The Florida Coalition for Children is recognizing Rep. Rick Roth as 2021 House Legislator of the Year.
The award was announced during the Coalition’s 2021 Leadership Summit in Orlando. About 200 leaders of Florida’s child welfare system gathered there to discuss crucial issues and develop a next-generation child well-being model.
Rep. Roth, who represents House District 85 in Palm Beach County, was elected to the Florida House in 2016. One of his main priorities has been to support abused and neglected children in Florida’s child welfare system. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the House Children, Families & Seniors Subcommittee.
Rep. Roth is a strong supporter of community-based care in Florida, which is structured to empower local communities to meet the unique needs of their neighbors. It is a nationally recognized model of care led by local citizens, and Rep. Roth hopes to strengthen it in the future.
